CSS Digital Studios is a multi-camera video production facility operated by the College of Social Sciences. Located on the first floor of the Sinclair Student Success Center, the studio supports academic instruction and provides hands-on training in digital content creation. Students co-produce all projects under the supervision of staff. Features include live switching, a large video wall, teleprompters, LED lighting, wireless audio, graphics and live streaming capabilities.
Digital Media Classes
During renovations to the Sinclair Student Success Center, only one course is currently offered each semester: SOCS 270 – Introduction to Digital Media. The class is open to all majors, faculty and staff, and is available during both the Fall and Spring semesters.
Upon completion of the renovations, estimated for 2026, Digital Studios will expand course offerings to include SOCS 370 and SOCS 470. These courses will be held in both the existing studio and a new, larger studio space with seating for an audience. Plans are also underway for a modern podcast studio with video capability
UHMTV
UHMTV is a student-driven video project showcasing campus and community stories through original reporting, hosting and production. Episodes blend classroom instruction with hands-on work in journalism, video production and digital storytelling, guided by faculty and media professionals.
Recognized with Telly Awards, UHMTV empowers students to produce meaningful content featuring cultural perspectives, community changemakers and research with social impact—informing, inspiring and innovating through media.
Video Production Request
The Digital Studios team can assist with CSS-affiliated video production projects. Ideal projects are student-focused and align with the College’s strategic goals and mission.
Studio Production
Located on the west side of campus inside the Sinclair Student Success Center, the Digital Studios hosts College seminars, livestreams campus events, and delivers digital media courses.
Location Shoots
The Studios team provides support for on-location shoots, including planning, gear, and production assistance. Projects often involve multiple considerations, including lighting, participants, timing, sound, and shot composition. After filming, editing is completed at the studio to add graphics, subtitles, and audio polish.
Equipment Checkout
The Studios offer a small pool of equipment for student use. Select gear requires a short certification before checkout. Presentation materials and training are available for DJI Pocket (F24), Sony ZV-E10, and XS Mic for Sony Camera.
Podcast Studio
The podcast studio is equipped with the latest audio equipment for podcast production. The room features multiple studio-quality microphones, a digital soundboard, and basic video capabilities. It is perfect for students to produce professional-quality podcasts.
Digital Signage
Digital Studios manages a centrally deployed digital signage system. It’s ideal for showing timely information, student projects, campus maps, announcements, safety alerts, and video loops. Content can be managed remotely and displayed throughout College spaces.

The Digital Studios team provides media production and digital storytelling support, and works with the CSS Advancement Office on video projects (Video Production Request Form).
