There’s always something to do on weekends or between classes, whether on land or by the sea. Hiking trails abound, even one in neighboring Mānoa Valley that leads to a 100-foot-tall waterfall. Since Oʻahu is an island, there are picture-perfect beaches dotting the coastline, such as nearby and popular Ala Moana Beach Park and, of course, storied Waikīkī. Stand-alone stores and shopping malls, like the behemoth open-air Ala Moana Center, are brimming with must-haves and optional treasures.
