The College of Social Sciences (CSS) Computer Services team offers comprehensive technology support for CSS faculty and staff, including maintenance of PC and Mac computer classrooms equipped with large touch-screen displays. It also assists with technology purchasing, helping users acquire computers, software, licenses and other essential tools to support teaching, research and administrative needs.
IT Work Request
CSS Computer Services’ top priority is classroom instruction and all technology that supports teaching and learning. For assistance, please use the IT Work Request form to provide detailed information. Once the form is submitted, the IT team will be notified and will follow up promptly.
Computer Labs and Classroom Technology
The College of Social Sciences maintains and staffs two computer labs to support instruction and provide students with access to specialized academic software. Both labs feature ViewSonic ViewBoard IFP8650 touchscreen displays and are available during the Fall and Spring semesters, with open hours scheduled around class use.

Crawford 114 (Mac Lab)
This lab features 20 student iMacs and one instructor iMac running macOS 15 (Sequoia). It supports coursework across disciplines that rely on creative and statistical tools. Specialized hardware/software include:
- Adobe Creative Cloud suite
- SPSS
- Stata

Saunders 635 (PC Lab)
Equipped with 20 student PCs and one instructor PC running Windows 11, this lab supports a range of courses, particularly those that require GIS and data analysis tools. Specialized software include:
- ArcGIS Pro
- SPSS
Faculty and Staff Computers
The College of Social Sciences provides a computer for all faculty and staff. Recommended configurations are available for both Dell (PC) and Apple (Mac) systems. If specialized hardware is required, CSS Computer Services is happy to assist with a custom setup. The team also provides support for planning, testing and installing specialized software. All computers must include extended warranties, which must be factored into purchase costs. CSS-issued computers are replaced on a five-year cycle.
