The College recently completed a comprehensive survey of alumni, ranging from our most recent graduates to one who earned a degree more than 75 years ago. The overarching aim was to help us better serve our students and alumni, and contribute to their academic and professional growth. Key findings include:

CSS alumni are extremely satisfied with their academic experience at UH Mānoa, with more than 96 percent rating overall quality as good or very good. Quality faculty, diversity, student colleagues and academic rigor were among the hallmarks reported.

CSS alumni are employed at higher rates than the U.S. labor force (U.S. national unemployment rate of 6.2 percent vs CSS at 4.2 percent bachelors/2.0 percent master’s/0.7 percent doctoral) and those with a bachelor’s degree earn more (CSS median income $69,798) than the national ($50,515) or Hawaiʻi ($46,769) median income. Fifty-seven percent of alumni report earning more than $60,000 and 39 percent over $80,000.

More than three-fourths report that their current job relates to their CSS degree, and 85 percent report that their department prepared them for the workplace.

We celebrate the success of our alumni, and are gratified that so many of you credit UH Mānoa and the college with contributing to your success. These results are but a few highlights.

Thank you to all who participated in this survey. You are helping us make UH Mānoa and our College a better place.
