In Memoriam – Fall 2023

Gertrude Nuuanu, who served as Communicology secretary for 37 years from 1987 to 2023, passed away in April 2023. Remembers Hye-Ryeon Lee, School of Communication and Information chair, “For those who are part of our Communicology ‘Ohana, Gertrude will forever be the irreplaceable Auntie. She was truly a kind heart dedicated to making her workplace a better home for all. She would listen to everyone explain problems, and smile, and say she would see what she could do, and always tried.”
