Check out what some of the Fall 2016 Interns shared about their experiences:

“The UH Manoa Political Internship (MPI) experience hasn’t just provided me with unparalleled insight into the inner workings of our federal government, it has given me an invaluable network of friends and mentors that are committed to seeing me succeed.”
– Keoni Williams, Communications & Korean Major (Congressional Internship, D.C.)

“I grew up always knowing I wanted to practice law. Having minimal knowledge of the legislative process, I quickly found a new passion for policy and lawmaking through this internship program.”
– Napela Shim, Psychology Major with Minor in Political Science (Congressional Internship, D.C.)

“In classes, we only learn the theoretical implications of the work of Congress. However, once you step foot onto The Hill, it’s a whole different experience that allows you to see the theory that you learn in class actually in action on the House and Senate floors. Whether you’re a Republican or Democrat, it doesn’t really matter. As long as you are able and willing to learn, your experience in DC will be phenomenal.”
– Denzel Johnson, Political Science Major (Congressional Internship, D.C.)

What is an Internship?

It is an opportunity that employers offer to students interested in gaining real work experience in specific industries. It is an excellent way to “try out” a certain career.

Why are Internships Important?

We believe that internships bridge a student’s academic experience and the world of work. They also serve as an integral component of the student’s education and career success. Internships make you a stronger candidate for jobs after graduation!
