No one will ever forget 2020. This was a year that tested the limits of determination and possibility. Our tenacious students, faculty and staff at the College of Social Sciences stepped up to the challenge of perpetuating excellence in academics and research – all while respecting the need to protect health and safety through innovative adjustment. Meanwhile, our alumni, supporters and greater community continued to share encouragement in a number of ways – ranging from monetary donations to voicing support for the College. We are so appreciative.

To our students graduating this month, congratulations on your success in reaching goals and setting new ones, and a warm mahalo to all of the people who assisted and encouraged you along the way.

In this December newsletter, we share some memorable highlights in the classroom and beyond, and shine a much-deserved spotlight on the Department of Political Science and the Public Policy Center. They are both instrumental in the quest for a more fair and just society, where all people can prosper.

As we leave 2020 behind, we wish you the warmest holiday season, and bestow bountiful hopes of a better, brighter and more uplifting 2021.
