Aloha! I hope 2018 has started off on a good note for all.

As we journey through 2018, I’m proud to share that we’re continuing to build momentum in our goal to create a true global experience for students. Through innovative partnerships with organizations like the Peace Corps, we are erasing borders and barriers, and providing students with extraordinary opportunities for immersive learning experiences abroad.

We also remain committed to bringing increased college access, affordability and academic success to Hawaiʻi students. We have not only launched a new program that offers undergraduate Economics students the opportunity to begin a master’s degree while completing a bachelor’s degree, but we are also on target to expand statewide through our Mānoa Academy Online program.

Our faculty continue to spearhead revolutionary research in areas such as the origins of modern man, economic inequality through the ages, population exposures in high-risk flood zones, mobile apps for the visually impaired, the ‘politics of play’, and the political ecology of agriculture and food.

Between new programs, expanded global reach and groundbreaking research, 2018 will be an exciting year for our entire CSS ʻohana!
